Peter Storm Skiddaw II

Very soft, full-grain leather boots that will only really suit women with wide feet as they are very wide across the toes. They’ve got a soft yet supportive ankle cuff, and although the tongue may feel harsh at first, it soon softens with wear. Disappointingly, the lacing system is a bit fiddly, making it difficult to get enough tension across the foot. They’re fairly lightweight, at only 1kg, and although the midsole isn’t stiff enough for really rugged ground, the Vibram sole gives good shock absorption and grips well on most types of terrain. They’ve got a waterproof lining which will keep out water, but it doesn’t breathe as well as some of the more expensive waterproof membranes.
