Haglöfs Vertigo GT 2009

The Haglöfs Vertigo GT is a top-quality multi-activity shoe from just about every angle. One unique feature is the inclusion of a Sole footbed, which offers far more support and pronation control than a standard footbed. This can be temperature-moulded to your foot profile too, which is superb if you need that extra control. The sole is nice and stiff with a reasonably aggressive outsole lug pattern for keeping a grip. Plus there is good cushioning underfoot for hard surfaces. The upper is a tough suede and fabric construction with rubber reinforcement for durability and Gore-Tex for waterproofness. The laces extend well down the foot for a precise fit while the toe box and heel are very supportive for maximum foot control and protection. These features make this shoe a very high quality offering. But the Haglöfs Vertigo GT is very heavy, and it lacks the performance edge of the more dedicated climbing footwear. If you don’t need the extremely tough construction you can save money and even gain comfort with lighter and more flexible shoes. You may not actually need the Sole footbed, which adds to the cost.
