A chunky, good-looking walking shoe with a good suede/mesh upper that offers plenty of support. But the midsole is a little too soft for really rough going: twisting and flexing a fair bit on scree or rocky paths. The fit is typical Brasher – quite wide and voluminous – and it has plenty of padding so feels comfortable from the off. The lacing reaches a fair way down the toe and will fine-tune for a really secure feel, although they do come undone rather easily. The outsole has big square cleats which seem better on dry trails than softer ones and it has good protection at the toe and heel. The Gore-Tex liner did a thorough job throughout the test.
